Who comprises the IBC?

  • The IBC is currently composed of ten members. They are:

How are radiation and chemical safety handled?

How are most IBC protocols handled?

  • Protocols involving human blood or tissue are approved by the biosafety officer. These are generally reviewed within one day.
  • Protocols involving significant hazards or unusual situations may require convening of the biosafety committee. This could take several weeks.
  • Other protocols are usually reviewed via email and can take upwards of one week to complete.

How do I access Sole (for IBC Members)?

  • Go to https://sole.hsc.wvu.edu/. Enter your master id and password to log in. Select WVU Institutional Biosafety Committee under courses and sites. Select the Site Content on the left hand side of the page. Select the items you wish to view.
